Photo by Kelleys-Creations. Run Your Own Bed & Breakfast

If you like people and cooking you can run a bed & breakfast. If you have a nice Victorian home or farm you can open it up to the public. First you will need to make the spare bedrooms are very attractive. Make the rooms feel homey, comfortable and beautiful. Make sure all of the bedrooms you will use have comfortable mattresses and pillows. If you do not have a hot tub in one of the bedrooms you may want to add one. The bedroom with the hot tub you can charge more money when people rent from your bed & breakfast.

Have new looking plush wash cloths and towels available for guests to use. You may want to offer small organic hand soap, shampoo and conditioner in your bathrooms for the guests.
You will need to offer a breakfast as people expect a nice homemade breakfast when renting from a bed & breakfast. You can offer a breakfast of eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast, milk, and orange juice one morning. The following morning you can make pancakes and sausage. Always have cereal, oatmeal and fresh fruit available for those that like to eat a lighter breakfast. Make sure you let your guests know the time frame on what time breakfast is served.

Make up a brochure and cards to advertise your business. Hang the brochures and cards up at businesses around town with their permission. Put an add in your local newspaper about your bed & breakfast services. You can advertise for free on Craigslist.com. You may want to put an ad in a traveling and vacation type magazines so people coming from other states and countries can find your bed & breakfast.

You can enjoy making money turning your home into a bed & breakfast for guests to enjoy. For more information on how to run a bed & breakfast, please visit: http://www.preparednessmentor.com/
